Well Kumo and her new bff of course!
Barry’s son and fiancé, mainly the fiancé fell in love with Kumo and has been after Barry’s son to let her get a “Kumo” dog.
I found one at a shelter last week that was absolutely adorable. Of course what “I need a home” puppy isn’t cute?! Well there are some pretty ugly dogs out there but this one had one of these faces that when you see it your heart instantly melts. Kumo is a Westie mix of some kind and the one I found at a local shelter was a Maltese but looked just like Kumo minus the standing ears. If the future daughter-in-law didn’t end up adopting him I have a strong feeling I wouldn’t have been able to resist snatching him up. Thankfully they adopted him because our house isn’t even close to being ready for another pet yet. Even though I’d really love to get Kumo a brother or sister, maybe next year. Barry’s son and fiance brought him home yesturday, they named him Jax.
So today Jax came over for a little meet and greet. I couldn’t wait for the two to meet as Kumo doesn’t get as much dog interaction as I’d like. Kumo gets very excited when meeting new people or dogs so I was a bit nervous but saw it as a chance for some training. Jax is fresh from the shelter, was a puppy mill dog, and just got “fixed” so I was worried Kumo would be too much for him. Thankfully Jax is a very mellow, very social and was all too happy to meet Kumo. They were pretty much friends in about 2 minutes. Success!

It was really cute watching the two of them interact. Kumo was overjoyed to have a playmate. She tries to play with our cats but obviously they’ll have none of that!
The two of them got to spend a couple of hours together getting rid of lots of energy. After they left Kumo was running all over the house and “crying” looking for her new friend. Awwww, too cute!
I know I keep saying this…but I PROMISE my next post will be about ripping out the kitchen floor and walls and putting our temporary kitchen back in. I swear!!
